Take a Dip

I love showers! I love the convenience of being in and out in 10 minutes. But I do find baths so much more relaxing. There's something so nice about a bath full of amazing products on a stressful day. These are all the products I used today for my Pamper evening.

Do you have pamper evenings? How regularly do you like to do them?

School Face Essentials

As you may or may not know, everyone has gone back to school. So I thought this was a brilliant opportunity to do a beauty essentials post. These are just a few of my absolute favourite products. I love them because they are light on the skin and don't make you look like your wearing pounds of makeup. To me, this is essential for your products to have these properties. Who wants to be worrying about what their makeup looks like whilst they're dealing with school? Not me!

Maybelline Baby Lips  - Pink Punch

This MAC powder is actually amazing; it keeps my face matte all day, sets my foundation beautifully and can be used as a foundation on it's on own. Rimmel has always been my favourite for drugstore foundation, and they're just as good at concealers. Since Casper, the ghost, has more colour than me;  it's almost impossible for me to find concealers. However, this is brightening, blendable and long lasting. If you're anything like me, your brows are everything. If this sounds familiar then you need Benefit Ready, Set, Brow gel. Your brows won't be moving all day. Lastly, everyone needs a lip balm and everyone loves Babylips so this is kind of a no-brainer!

This is an amazing mascara it grabs all your lashes, makes you look awake and doesn't clump up easily. I will be doing a more in-depth review on this so look out for that. We all want to look chiseled and bronzed. This is the best palette I have found in the drugstore and it's one of the cheapest. If you have really long hair then you need a Tangle Teezer. They are not harsh on your hair at all. Any knots you have will be removed so easily and it doesn't hurt at all.

Freedom Pro studio - Fixing mist
Maybelline Baby skin - Instant Pore Eraser
Borjous Healthy Mix Serum - Light Vanilla
Maybelline Colour Tattoo - Creme de Rose

This fixing mist/spray really does what it says on the tin. I just spritz some all over my face a few minutes after I have completed my makeup and by the time I get home I look just as flawless! Primers, in my opinion, can be quite hard to get right; and although this one smells funny and is very siliconey; it does what I want it to do. Plus, my face feels as smooth as a baby's butt. Which I like on my face! The one thing I don't like at school is a heavy foundation. I just feel like it looks too dressy and fake. So I am constantly reaching for this beautiful Borjous Serum. It smells so fresh and fruity, feels amazing on the skin and lasts all day. Lastly, for my eyes, I love the wash of colour this tattoo cream gives.

Dear 18 year old me... ☯

Hello Me,
So Alice. How you doin'? Ok, that's cringy! Well done, your now an adult that can drink and do normal things in society. Plus, high school is over so your finally free. No more awkward lessons about what you want to do in the future and you would just be clueless.

Today I am writing to you to tell you some of the hopes and dreams that I want to be accomplished by the time I'm 18. Not all of these are MUST do but I would like it if they were done.

So, first up: school. I think you've finished school now but I hope you carried Art and Photography on through A-level and are thinking of going to art college. If you have given these up, something really big must have happened. Hopefully, you got a good GCSE grade and are really excelling in Art and Photography.

Additionally, I would like to think you have carried on this blog and helped it grow and develop. Maybe it has a professional looking template or design. And since I am buying a camera in a few days, the picture quality and layout should be more aesthetically pleasing. I also want you to reply to this in a blog post.

Personally, I want you to be more confident in yourself and put yourself out there more. Whether it's social, blogging or mentally. If you have lost weight, brilliant. But if not, I hope your content with who and what you are. Appearance wise, I would like it if you cut your hair a little bit as it's currently down to your bum. I also hope you found the correct foundation shade because at the moment you are using the L'oreal true match in 1n. Also, your brows were on fleek but then you accidentally messed them up and now they are horrible. So please say they are good again.

Friends wise, are you still in contact with E and B? Or are you with other people now. I also hope you go out more and have gotten to grips with your anxiety. Now you can think about driving, please say you are more independent and can easily go out with friends and family. I hope you are still at home and looking after Mum. If they haven't found a proper medication.
Your teeth will be straight now and I hope you've kept on top of them.

This is everything. I hope you enjoy life as an 18-year-old.

"Just let her get on with it!" ☯

One of my idols is Miley Cyrus. To a lot of people, this is totally crazy and out of order as she's such an embarrassment to humanity. This is all down to the media and how they have chosen to portray her. So today I thought I would show you the different side of Miley and what she stands for as a person and as a woman.

The Media Misconception
The fact that she expresses herself through her clothing is something the media don't like at all. To them, she is not expressing herself she is being 'unladylike' and  'a poor role model'.  But all she's doing is embracing her body and loving herself. Why should she follow the public's 'ideal female rule'?

The Bits The Media Miss Out
Miley founded the foundation; Happy Hippie. This foundation successfully helps young people who face injustice such as- homeless youth, LGBTQ youth, and other vulnerable groups. All of the profits go straight to the people the foundation support and Miley doesn't make a single penny. Miley also often donates large sums of money to the foundation and gets involved in most of the visits. She has really helped young people facing modern world problems. And for that I congratulate her.
The foundation says:
"People who say WE can’t change the world ARE wrong.
We will make some noise and cause a scene! We will challenge each other and the world & will stop pointless judgment.
We know that the people sleeping on the sidewalk could have been us or our
closest friends if our lives were just a little bit different.
And the people we see sleeping on the sidewalk COULD be our friends if we gave them the chance. It’s time for us to speak up for the people in our streets, our cities, our world.
It’s time for us to grow our passion, shine bright and change the future.
John Lennon said it best: “A dream you dream alone is only a dream.
A dream you dream together is a reality.” It is essential to our lives to do good for others!
The only way we can truly be happy is if we are making others happy!
That is this Hippie's goal!
#HAPPYHIPPIE" - taken directly off their website.

I love how unpredictable she is. Some people say that her parents are to blame and that they didn't do a good enough job. In my opinion, they did an excellent job. She frequently donates and is hands on in helping make tomorrow a better day and she is inspiring people to be themselves and embrace their bodies and love themselves!
I like the old Miley and the new. But deep down she's just the same lovely, sweet girl. As everyone says; "don't judge a book by its cover". Maybe learn a little more about Miley before you make a judgement.

How do you feel about Miley? Has this changed your judgment? Do you agree with her charity work?
